Lady Gaga, 28, has been blasted by animal charities for dressing up her pet pooch Asia in painful and weighty jewellery, headpieces and earrings – then displaying the results.
The Bad Romance singer started posting dress-up pics of her pup on Wednesday with giant Pat Butcher-esque jewels clipped to the sad-eyed French bulldog’s tiny ears.
She later showed Asia with a heavy duty chainmail necklace draped over its face – and snout – captioning it “Little McQueen”. But the star has now come under fire from animal charity PETA, which has warned the Mother Monster she’s a lot to learn about doggie care.
“Lady Gaga may choose to decorate herself with elaborate and even uncomfortable outfits, but Asia doesn’t get to make that choice.
Although it seems pretty clear that Lady Gaga loves Asia, we think Asia – and all dogs – are adorable without all the added flair.”
Even Gaga’s Little Monsters were quick to point out that dolling up her pooch was cruel.

More than Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Lady Gaga or Lorde, it was Miley Cyrus who owned 2013.
At least, according to MTV.
After stealing the spotlight at not one but two MTV awards shows, starring in an MTV documentary and taking over the network on her 21st birthday, MTV has crowned Cyrus as its best artist of the year.
It’s not like the pop star hasn’t worked for it. (Or twerked for it) Her October release, Bangerz, bowed at No.1 and features two other chart-topping tracks, We Can’t Stop and Wrecking Ball. Both singles were accompanied by music videos that became cultural touchstones and almost broke the Internet. (According to Vevo.com, Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball is its most-viewed video of 2013, followed by the clip for “We Can’t Stop.”)
The former Disney star also nailed her appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in the Fall, when she both hosted and performed.
She also managed to end up on Time magazine’s best- and worst-dressed lists of 2013.
Given that, it’s not too surprising that MTV’s news and music teams — having noticed that Cyrus’ MTV artist page is the most-visited of the year, with her VMAs performance being the most-watched video — have given her another No. 1.
Cyrus is the third star to take the title, following Katy Perry and One Direction.
Neither of those music acts should feel too badly about losing to Cyrus — they’re both still on MTV’s list of the top 10 best artists of 2013:
1. Miley Cyrus
2. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
3. Justin Timberlake
4. Kanye West
5. One Direction
6. Katy Perry
7. Drake
8. Bruno Mars
9. Lorde
10. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is streaming her new album a week early after leaks, but she hinted on Wednesday at an out-of-this-world publicity splash with its official launch - a concert in space.
The multi-platinum-selling pop diva's third album, "Artpop", went up without warning on iTunes after a trickle of leaks in recent days on the Internet. The first official release was Wednesday in Japan.
But the rarely subtle singer gave fans another reason to wait for the album's official international launch on Sunday. “Us Weekly” magazine reported that Lady Gaga would become the first singer to perform in outer space.

Talk about a full frontal facepalm. Lady Gaga fancies herself a performance artist, so it's not too surprising to hear news of the pop star doing something crazy in the name of art. But performing completely naked on stage? That's a new one… even for Gaga.
Mother Monster performed a surprise set at London nightclub G-A-Y this past weekend. Singing her new song "Venus," Gaga started the show dressed up as a ghost… but soon after stripped down to just her birthday suit.
Comedian Matt Lucas tweeted after the show: "Just saw Lady Gaga do a surprise set at G-A-Y... All agreed it was impressive but we're staying gay." Fair enough.
Gaga's performance was definitely racy, but is it the most R-rated on-stage performance of all time?
We all remember Miley's risque performance at the MTV VMAs, when the twerking pop star rubbed a foam finger all over herself.
Then, there was the time Justin Timberlake ripped off Janet Jackson's top on stage, exposing Ms. Jackson to millions of viewers during the Super Bowl Halftime show back in 2004.
And let's not forget the moment when Madonna and Britney Spears shared an open-mouth kiss at the end of their MTV VMA performance in 2003. Tame for now, but pretty risque for 10 years ago...
From Gaga to Miley to Madonna, who's had the most R-rated musical performance of all time?
