Rainy weather to continue

The Department said issuing a severe weather advisory valid for next 24 hours that showery weather is expected to continue for next few days as the atmospheric disturbances which formed under the inter monsoon condition still persist in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
It said intermittent showers or thunder showers over deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Galle could be expected with strong winds strengthening up to 80kmp/h during thunder showers.
