Sri lanka transport Minister Kumara Welgama said that all bus drivers would be banned from using mobile phones while driving from tomorrow,

He said this was being done after learning that the bus driver involved in the Banadarawela tragedy, which killed 10 passengers and injured 18, was in the habit of using his mobile phone while at the wheel.

Out of his own funds, the minister donated Rs. 25 000 to the next of kin of those who died and Rs.10 000 to those who were injured.(Prasanna Pathmasiri)
