Burglary at Wolvendhal Church

Caretaker Pathiraja Mudiyanselage Benjamin was produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris.
The police said when they visited the church to investigate a complaint lodged they found the base of the lightning conductor had been dung and on questioning the caretaker he admitted that some person had done so in search of some priceless items. The police said the suspect had promised to pay the caretaker when the valuable items were recovered.
Police personnel headed by Sub Inspector Upul Ekanayake are conducting investigations on the direction of Inspctor Dharmapriya. (T. Farook Thajudeen)
