She may be a Tennis star and he may be one of the greatest cricketers of our times, but that doesn’t make it safe to assume they know of each other.
Maria Sharapova, French Open champion and a Tennis player with a large fan base, was recently asked if she knew Sachin Tendulkar. “I don’t,” said Sharapova curtly.
According to tennisworldusa.org, Sharapova was talking about David Beckham who was in the royal box alongwith Tendulkar to watch Federer and Nadal at Wimbledon, calling him a “great guy” and an “incredible football player” when a reporter asked her, “Sachin Tendulkar was the other person who came in at the same time as David. Do you know who Sachin is?”
And Sharapova replied in a clear negative, perhaps breaking many hearts across India and other cricket-frenzied places.
