Galgamuwa child abduction: Court grants permission to detain suspects

Courts have granted permission for the detention and interrogation of four suspects in connection to the kidnapping of Yashen Lankanath from Meegalawa, Galgamuwa.
Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the four suspects were produced before court on Saturday. The Criminal Investigations Department that commenced investigations into the incident were able to rescue the child and also arrest the suspects connected to the kidnapping.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana revealed that the abductors initially demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 million, but later reduced the amount to Rs. 3.5 million.
