"Don't talk about women's empowerment when you don't know how to respect women!" she posted.
The Finding Fanny actor was apparently enraged over a story on her 'cleavage show' in, what she called, "supposedly India's leading newspaper". The tweet added — and this is “News”?
Her tweets created quite a storm. Her three back-to-back tweets had over 1,500 re-tweets in less than an hour.

Actress Deepika Padukone has been voted the sexiest woman in the world in a poll conducted by the FHM magazine.
She will feature in the new edition of the magazine and the actress Wednesday unveiled the edition featuring her and the other girls in the top 100 list of sexiest women. However, Deepika believes that her physical appearance has got nothing to do with this poll and it is only her work that led her to this.
"I think something like this is really the result of the work that I do. I don't think it has got anything to do with me physically. I also think that the brand endorsements are also the result of the films that you do," the statusque actress said here. "I have been very fortunate that the roles I have done in the last 2-3 years have been very different from each other. So I guess this and the endorsements are a result of that and, of course, the success of that and the relatability of the characters," she added.
Deepika was last seen in the Tamil film "Kochadaiiyaan." Her look in her upcoming film "Finding Fanny" is also out. The film has been directed by Homi Adajania and also stars Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia.

A local court on Friday issued arrest warrants against ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actors Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh in connection with a case alleging that few scenes in the movie hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
Warrants were also issued against another producer Kishore Lulla, as well as the musicians and lyricists of the movie.
Issuing the arrest warrants, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) SP Singh directed Mumbai Police Commissioner to arrest the persons concerned and produce them at his court on June 4.
These warrants were issued based on a complaint case under various sections of the IPC filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in November last year which alleged that few scenes in the movie hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court had stopped the release of the movie till November 22, 2013 but it was released on November 12 itself.
The CJM took cognisance of the case on February 14 this year and summoned the actors and the director, who did not turn up following which today the warrants were issued.
