Kudu Laalitha shot dead

Laalitha Kaushalya alias Kudu Laalitha was shot dead a short while ago when he attempted to escape from Police Narcotic Bureau personnel during a raid in Athurugiriya.He was previously a resident of Maligawatte but at moved to Nawagamuwa. Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana alleged that Kudu Laalitha was engaged in drug smuggling.
He was shot dead near the Oruwala Hospital on the Athurugiriya- Kaduwela Road while attempting to get away from the Narcotic Officials who were following his vehicle.
He was admitted to the Nawagamuwa Hospital but died soon after admission. (Sanath Desmond and Lahiru Pothmulla)
