Death at Bambalapitiya Cosmetic Surgery Clinic: Staff to be interrrogated
The Ministry of Health says that the rest of the staff at the cosmetic surgery clinic in Bambalapitiya, where a doctor died after receiving treatment, will be interrogated on Thursday.
The Director of the Cosmetics Devices and Drugs Regulatory Authority, Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva said that statements will be taken from the nurses and the rest of the staff at the cosmetic surgery clinic.
Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva said investigations will be carried out to ascertain whether the staff has obtained the required qualifications. The Cosmetics Devices and Drugs Regulatory Authority states that it is questionable as to whether the doctor was prepared to treat the patient in case of an allergic reaction to the given injection.
Meanwhile, the doctor of the cosmetic surgical clinic in question has been remanded until September 18.

The police curfew in Beruwala and Aluthgama has been lifted for four hours.

Police Headquarters notes that the police curfew enforced in Beruwala and Aluthgama has been extended.The police requests the public not to be fooled by various rumours that are spreading in the area.

According to a spokesperson at the Kalutara Hospital, thirty individuals who suffered injuries during clashes in Beruwala and Aluthgama on Sunday are currently receiving in house treatment.
He added that five individuals who were in critical condition were transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that the government will not let anyone take the law into their own hands.
The President who is on an official visit to Bolivia made this statement via twitter following the series of events that occurred in Aluthgama.
Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media Charitha Herath states that all media institutions should act responsibly – in a manner which protects national peace and religious harmony.

Eighty injured and seven shot in Aluthgama and Beruwala tensions

Eighty individuals have been injured in the tense situation that arose in the Beruwala and Aluthgama areas on Sunday evening. The injured have been sent to the Kalutara Base Hospital, the Beruwala District Hospital, the Government Hospital in Dharga town and the Aluthgama Rural Hospital.
A spokeswoman of the Kalutara Base Hospital stated that 36 persons, including the seven who were shot, were receiving treatment at the hospital.
Seven individuals, including a police officer, have been admitted to Beruwala District Hospital.
A spokeswoman of the Government Hospital of the Dharga town stated that two persons are currently receiving treatment.
Ten individuals, including a member of the Special Task Force, were admitted to the Aluthgama Rural Village Hospital, while eight of them were later transferred to the Kalutara Base Hospital. A spokeswoman of the hospital stated that two of them had left after receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the police curfew that was imposed on the Beruwala and Aluthgama police divisions is still in effect.
Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana stated that the police curfew will be in effect until further notice.
