Madonna Poses Topless For Interview

Posted by Unknown on Monday, December 1, 2014 | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

Madonna is busting out of her bustier on one of the December covers of Interview and all together freeing the nipple inside the pages of the magazine.
The 56-year-old pop star held nothing back as she got real with magician David Blaineabout everything from art and death to drugs. The three different covers and a series of boudoir shots were shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
During their chat, Blaine called the singer's new song ("Devil Prays") off her forthcoming album "fucking amazing" and wonders why it's all about drugs, because "it's not like [she was] using drugs."
Madonna wasn't coy about her past drug use telling the magician, she's tried everything once, and explained the song is about "how people take drugs to connect to God or to a higher level of consciousness."
"I keep saying, 'Plugging into the matrix.' If you get high, you can do that, which is why a lot of people drop acid or do drugs, because they want to get closer to God," she told Blaine. "But there's going to be a short circuit, and that's the illusion of drugs, because they give you the illusion of getting closer to God, but ultimately they kill you. They destroy you. I mean, I tried everything once, but as soon as I was high, I spent my time drinking tons of water to get it out of my system. As soon as I was high, I was obsessed with flushing it out of me. [Blaine laughs] I was like, 'Okay, I'm done now.'

Rare look inside Britain's only naked village as Spielplatz tries to attract new residents

Posted by Unknown on | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

It's that time of year again when many of us think about wrapping up warm.
But things couldn't be more different in a small community in Hertfordshire.
Residents enjoy nothing more than stripping off and living completely naked.
Just outside St Albans is the quiet - yet quirky - corner of England, where time has stood still and the inhabitants retreat from the outside world.
Spielplatz is one of the oldest naturist resorts in Europe and is the UK's only Naked Village.
A TV crew spent the summer with the residents and management committee of the village as they endeavour to keep the spirit of naturism, and the laid back lifestyle that goes with it, alive whilst ensuring their way of life can continue for future generations.
There is a desperate need to attract new, younger visitors and residents, as the average age of the village community is well over 60.
As well as a permanent home to some 50 residents, Spielplatz also attracts day visitors and others who come to enjoy the freedom of the village green, community pool and other facilities - without clothes.
Gone though is the heyday of the 50's when hundreds of naturists of all ages poured in to cast aside their clothes and enjoy life as naked as the day they were born.
The fixtures and fittings are fading and ageing like the inhabitants themselves, and as the sun comes out so does their determination to attract fresh flesh.
.

However, there is concern amongst the village committee about how to bring in new nudists.
Concerned about bringing in too many voyeurs keen to look but not to try naturism, they conflict about the best way forward to attract new visitors.
Without money to invest in refurbishment of the facilities, the village is at threat from developers hovering over this valuable piece of woodland real estate within minutes of the M25.

Battling the British weather, the villager's hope that events like a private naked yoga session and a naked body art workshop will entice new blood and new money into the village bar and café, and that those coming to try these events will fall in love with the rustic charm and innocence of this community that was established in 1929 and come back again to visit, and maybe even to live.
The Naked Village is on More4, December 2 at 9pm.

Facebook posting causes school principal to faint

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, November 22, 2014 | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

A derogatory posting on Face Book regarding the principal of a school in Nawalapitiya had caused her to fall sick resulting in her having to be admitted to the hospital. Soon after this incident, a group of persons had called over at the school and assaulted another teacher, resulting in that teacher too having to seek medical attention. Hearing of the two incidents the parents and students of the school had decided to stage a protest in the Nawalapitiya town.

This incident had allegedly taken place over a dispute which had arisen over the Sunday School Classes that was being conducted at the church near the school. Nawalapitiya police had commenced investigations into the cause of the dispute.

The police, along with the school development society had summoned a meeting of the students and their parents on Wednesday (19).

It was revealed that when the principal arrived at the school she had been shocked with the posting that she had seen on Face Book and she had fallen unconscious. As the term tests were in progress this scene created much tension among the school authorities.

Meanwhile the teacher, who had been attacked later on, had said that a group of outsiders had entered the school premises and had demanded the keys of the classrooms from her. When she requested them to wait for the arrival of the principal, they had scolded and then assaulted her.

The Zonal Director of Education of Gampola, Ananda Premasiri, who visited the scene, had said that instructions had been given to allow several persons to use the class rooms, but in the meantime a separate group had entered the school and created this ugly scene.

Interbrand, one of the most respected and world’s leading brand consultants, with a network of 33 offices in 27 countries carried out their annual brand study recently – the highly influential annual Best Global Brands Ranking for 2014.
The study showed that leading automotive brands continue to rethink the future of mobility. A combined focus on energy-efficient products and integrated technology is helping leading auto brands drive brand loyalty and value. This also reinstated Mercedes-Benz as the most valuable luxury automobile brand in the world.
This year, the collective brand value of the automotive brands appearing on the Best Global Brands ranking increased 14.6%. All 14 automotive brands collectively make up a combined brand value of $ 211.9 billion.
With three out of the five Top Risers hailing from the automotive sector, the past year proved to be a record-breaking one. This year’s top 14 automotive brands include: Toyota (#8, +20%), Mercedes-Benz (#10, +8%), BMW (#11, +7%), Honda (#20, +17%), Volkswagen (#31, +23%), Ford (#39, +18%), Hyundai (#40, +16%), Audi (#45, +27%), Nissan (#56, +23%), Porsche (#60, +11%), Kia (#74, +15%), Chevrolet (#82, +10%), Harley-Davidson (#87, +13%), and Land Rover (#91, NEW).
Mercedes-Benz, Germany’s automotive pioneer revitalized itself with new models and fresh expressions of its brand, resulting in a record 14% increase in sales. Sales rose 9.5% in the US (Mercedes-Benz’s largest market), demand has been revived in Europe, and the brand is closing in on competitors in China.
Continuing to provide the comfort, performance, and safety consumers have come to expect from the brand, while also offering dramatic styling and innovative new features, it’s no wonder Mercedes-Benz’s models still captivate.
Demand for the flagship luxury S-Class line has surged 60%, and its E-Class models, CLA-Class Coupe, and GLA-Class SUV shook up the entry-level luxury market by attracting younger consumers. The timeless appeal of the Mercedes brand, currently summed up by its tagline ‘The best or nothing,’ is seductive the world over and appeals to drivers of all ages.
In terms of the latest models and marketing, the new-generation S-Class is also making history with the most successful and the fastest market launch. Within less than twelve weeks the S-Class went on sale in all three-core markets—Germany (end of July 2013), China (end of September 2013) and the USA (mid-October 2013). Within just one year after the launch in all its core markets, Mercedes-Benz was able to deliver over 100,000 S-Class models worldwide.
“The sales figure of 100,000 S-Class models in just one year is the ultimate proof: the combination of high-class quality, exemplary efficiency and a host of innovative assistance and safety systems delights our customers and meets their highest demands,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing and Sales. However, not all variants of the S-Class is suitable for Sri Lanka due to country specific conditions.
DIMO has currently sold approximately 80 S-Class sedans in Sri Lanka. DIMO is the only authorized distributor in Sri Lanka for Mercedes-Benz automobiles and their latest showroom and service centre is located at ‘DIMO800’ at Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha, Colombo 15.
This facility is the largest and the most modern service facility in this part of the world. This facility was developed to deliver the same level of luxury, comfort, reassurance and peace of mind that is experienced when you purchase and maintain a Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany.
Mercedes-Benz is the most recognised and aspired luxury automobile brand in Sri Lanka, and is the bestselling luxury automobile brand in Sri Lanka. This year also marks a milestone for DIMO as they celebrate their 75th anniversary – reflecting more than seven decades of partnership with the three-pointed star.

Cancer patient Brittany Maynard, 29, has scheduled her death for Nov. 1

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, October 9, 2014 | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

Brittany Maynard
Brittany Maynard, a 29-year-old woman battling stage 4 brain cancer, plans to die on November 1 via assisted suicide and has launched a nationwide campaign for death with dignity laws, she revealed in an Oct. 6 YouTube video (see above).

Maynard is sad she had to leave her home state of California in order to access death with dignity laws in Oregon. Brittany said she's going public with her choice because she wants to expand assisted suicide laws around the nation.
"I can't even tell you the amount of relief it provides me to know that I don't have to die the way that it's been described to me, that my brain tumor would take me on its own," said Maynard. "I hope to pass in peace."
Brittany, an athlete and adventurer who has run half-marathons and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, was given six months to live in April after being diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma (a malignant brain tumor) in January 2014. Maynard plans to end her life Nov. 1 with medication from her doctor, but she insists she's not suicidal and does not want to die.
"There is not a cell in my body that is suicidal or that wants to die," she told People. "I want to live. I wish there was a cure for my disease but there's not. My glioblastoma is going to kill me, and that's out of my control. I've discussed with many experts how I would die, and it's a terrible, terrible way to die. Being able to choose to go with dignity is less terrifying."
Brittany, an only child, said she has discussed the decision with her parents and her husband, Dan Diaz, 42. They support her choice to die peacefully and not suffering in the last days of her life.
"My entire family has gone through a cycle of devastation," she said. "I'm an only child. For my mother, it's really difficult, and for my husband as well, but they've all supported me because they've stood in hospital rooms and heard what would happen to me."
Sadly, Maynard had wanted to start a family when she was diagnosed with advanced brain cancer in January 2014. After undergoing surgery in April, she learned her tumor had gotten bigger and was given at most six months to live. That's when she decided she wanted to end her life on her own terms.
Because assisted suicide is against the law in her native California, Brittany's entire family has moved to Oregon, where the state's Death with Dignity Act has been in place since 1997. Since then, 752 people have died on their own terms. Maynard is currently trying to get assisted suicide laws enacted in California.
Maynard is choosing to die on Nov. 1 so she can celebrate her husband's birthday on Oct. 30 before she goes. She's at peace with her decision and feels it's the best for herself and her loved ones.
"I really wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday, which is October 30," she says. "I'm getting sicker, dealing with more pain and seizures and difficulties. I'm dying, but I'm choosing to suffer less."
Brittany plans to die in the bedroom she shares with her husband. Her mother, stepfather, husband and best friend will be by her side when she departs this world.

First ever baby born through womb transplant

First ever baby born through womb transplant
A woman in Sweden has achieved a medical first after giving birth to a health baby boy following a womb transplant.
The 36-year-old mother received a uterus from a close family friend last year.
Her baby boy was born prematurely by cesarean section but is healthy and mother and child are now at home and doing well.
The Swedish woman had healthy ovaries, but she was born without a uterus – a syndrome seen in one girl in 4,500.
One year after the transplant, when doctors were confident the womb was working well, they transferred a single embryo created in a lab dish using the woman’s eggs and her husband’s sperm.
The woman, who has only one kidney, had three mild rejection episodes, including one during pregnancy, but all were successfully treated with medicines.
Mats Brannstrom, Professor and Team Leader of the Uterus Transplantation Team said more research needed to be done adding “I think this is not going to be routine clinical care or routine surgery until many, many years from now.”

Shocker: Bomb found on Air India aircraft earmarked for PM Narendra Modi

Posted by Unknown on | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

In a security scare, a defused bomb was found last night in the business class of an Air India jumbo aircraft which was kept as a standby for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent US visit.
The discovery of the bomb uncovered a major security lapse within the Indian establishment tasked with protecting the top ring of the government.
The grenade was found by the Air India crew on board the Boeing 747-400 which was operating the Mumbai-Hyderabad-Jeddah flight, airline sources said today.
On landing at Jeddah, the incident was reported to the local security agencies who took over the aircraft, the sources said.
The aircraft, which has been cleared and released by Jeddah airport security, is still in the city as Indian security personnel were investigating the matter. The plane is likely to return to Calicut soon.
The aircraft had been kept as a standby for the recent US visit of Modi. The Prime Minister had undertaken a five-day visit to the US from September 25.
An Air India executive said that it was the "plastic casing" of a shell of a stun grenade used by security during the anti terror drills carried out in the plane and that it was "completely harmless". The airline is carrying out its investigations.
"A suspicious object was found on board this aircraft. The investigations are on," an Air India Spokesperson said.

Mother and Daughter Come Out about Lesbian Relationship: Vertasha & Mary Story

Posted by Unknown on Friday, October 3, 2014 | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

“Vertasha and I knew we were attracted to each other when she was sixteen,” Mary Carter said. “But we decided to wait to have sex until she was eighteen, legally of age. We are now going public with our relationship to help others who might be in gay mother/daughter relationship feel confident and okay about coming out. We want the world to know we love each other as mother and daughter andromantically.”
Laws forbid incest mostly because of inbreeding and the birth defects that can often come as a consequence.
“We’re women, so Vertasha  and I obviously can’t make children,” Mary Carter said. “It’d be one thing if her daddy (he’s out of the picture) got her pregnant and a baby was born with deformities, but we’re not hurting anyone. We’re a new minority and just want acceptance.”
Vertasha is apparently happy with the relationship as well.
“My mom is still my mom. She does normal mom stuff: buys me clothes, pays for food, tells me to make our bed. We just happen to enjoy sex with each other too.”

United States’ stance on human rights in SL has not changed – Jen Psaki

United States’ stance on human rights in SL has not changed – Jen Psaki
The US State Department notes that the United States’ stance on human rights in Sri Lanka has not changed nor has it softened.
The statement was made by  US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki.
Question: There is a report that I have seen from a Sri Lankan newspaper suggesting that when Secretary Kerry met with the Sri Lankan President, I think it was during UNGA, that he had – that Secretary Kerry had, indicated or suggested a softening in the U.S. position on Sri Lanka. The piece I saw didn’t specify what, but I think the inference was that it was a softening on human rights concerns in Sri Lanka. Is there any truth to that? Did he signal that he would take human rights less seriously there?
MS. Psaki: Absolutely not. I saw the same story. The only thing that was right was that the Secretary did speak with the Sri Lankan President on the margins of the UN General Assembly. He did so with the express purpose of conveying that U.S. policy with regard to Sri Lanka has not changed and it certainly has not softened. We would, of course, like our relationship with Sri Lanka to achieve its full potential, but that will only happen if Sri Lanka builds enduring peace and prosperity for all of its diverse ethnic and religious communities. And that’s why the Secretary, in no uncertain terms, made clear to the President that Sri Lanka needed to take meaningful steps to act like a country that is no longer at war and instead is now building a future that includes all of its citizens. So, certainly, it had the opposite purpose.

Samsung issues statement about Galaxy Note 4 gap issue
Samsung on Wednesday rejected claims that its new oversized smartphone had a defect, after some customers posted pictures of a gap between the frame and display panel.
The South Korean electronics giant, which had poked fun at rival Apple over reports that its new iPhone model was susceptible to bending, said the “Gapgate” complaints concerning the Galaxy Note 4 were groundless.
After the “phablet” went on sale in China and South Korea on Friday, a number of South Korean users posted or tweeted pictures showing how a business card could be inserted between the display panel and the frame.
Some warned the gap would collect dirt and might even allow fluid into the device.
Samsung insisted the gap was a natural part of design that “does not impact the functionality or quality” of the phone.
“We assure our customers that all Galaxy Note 4 units meet our strict manufacturing and quality control standards,” it said in a statement.
A company spokesman added that the model had passed rigorous tests for dirt protection and water resistance.
The Galaxy Note 4 is important for Samsung, which brought the launch forward, apparently with the aim of getting it into the China market before the new iPhone 6, and larger iPhone 6 Plus.
Samsung initially pioneered the market for the “phablet” devices sized between a smartphone and a tablet computer when it introduced the Galaxy Note series in 2011.
The two rivals have locked horns for years in their battle to dominate the global smartphone market, suing each other for alleged patent violations and using aggressive advertising.
In a recent ad for Galaxy Note, Samsung showed a bent phone bowing to a straight phone with a line “Bend to those who are worthy”.

Buckingham Palace seeks chewing gum remover

Buckingham Palace seeks chewing gum remover
Buckingham Palace has revealed a sticky reality – Queen Elizabeth II is looking for a cleaner who can oversee the removal of chewing gum left by visitors to a royal residence.
Among the duties for the job at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh is: “To arrange for the removal of chewing gum from the Historic and State Apartments by the porters”, the palace said on its website.
The part-time position, which is paid 15,912 pounds (20,428 euros, $25,763) a year, would also involve cleaning the palace toilets and “washing of all crockery required for visits to the palace”.
The cleaner would also “report to the Housekeeper any defects in furniture and fittings”, “clean all brass to the standards required by the Housekeeper” and “cover all furniture in dust sheets” when no royals are staying in the residence.
The many duties mean candidates must be “physically fit and meticulous” and the post holder “will need to have a flexible approach to working hours when The Queen, members of the Royal Family and the High Commissioner are in residence”.
Holyroodhouse dates back to the 16th century and is the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Parts of it are open to the public – a fact the royals may be regretting.
A royal source quoted by The Sun newspaper said: “You wouldn’t expect people to be chewing gum when they visit, let alone stick it on the priceless antiques or the parquet floor.”

Microsoft unveils Windows 10

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

Microsoft has disclosed the first details of Windows 10 - its next operating system (OS), BBC reports.

The name is a surprise, bearing in mind it represents a jump from the last version - Windows 8.

The software will run on a wide range of devices, from phones and tablets to PCs and Xbox games consoles, with applications sold from a single store.

It also marks the return of the Start Menu, which had been removed from Windows 8.

In addition to offering a list of the user's favourite applications, the menu also brings up resizable tiles - similar to those featured in Windows 8's touch-centric interface on PCs and tablets.

These provide a quick view of notifications from relevant applications, such as details of new emails, Facebook messages and weather forecast updates.

The company said the facility was intended to make the software seem familiar to both users of Windows 8 and Windows 7.

The behaviour of the OS will depend on the type of device with which it is being used. Unlike its predecessor, users will not need to switch between Desktop Mode and the touch-focused alternative.

However, they can still spread a number of "live tiles" across the screens of two-in-one laptop-tablet hybrids to make them easier to use with both a mouse and finger presses.

Private medical colleges cannot exist without permission of the Medical Council – GMOA
The Government Medical Officers Association convened a press conference in Colombo on Monday. Speaking at the press conference Assistant Secretary of the GMOA, Dr.Nalinda Herath expressed the following views:
Assistant Secretary of GMOA, Dr. Nalinda Herath:
“As you are aware, the Office of the Government Medical Officers Association was closed down in July. A group of doctors were behind this. On the 21st of July a case was filed in court by a group of private medical students, seeking that they too be given permission to train at government hospitals. In one hand, this is an attempt to destabilise the GMOA. ”
He added: “On the other hand it appears to be the process to leagalise private medical colleges. That is why we alleged that multi-national companies and other institutions are attempting to destabilise the Government Medical Officers Association. Our stance on private medical colleges has not changed. Private medical colleges cannot exists without the permission of the Medical Council. We believe that the Medical Council too will take the correct stance.”

Microsoft to unveil next version of Windows

Microsoft to unveil next version of Windows
Microsoft plans to offer a glimpse of its vision for Windows this week, as its new CEO seeks to redefine the company and recover from missteps with its flagship operating system.
Although the new software won’t be formally released until next year, analysts already consider its success crucial for Microsoft and Satya Nadella, who has made mobile devices and Internet-based services priorities since becoming CEO in February.
With its tablet-like touch controls, Windows 8 had been Microsoft’s answer to slumping sales in personal computers amid a rising demand for mobile devices. But the company alienated many users by forcing radical behavioral changes. Research firm IDC even blamed Windows 8 for accelerating a decline in PC sales in the first full quarter following the system’s release in October 2012.
Microsoft has released updates that address some of the complaints, yet analytics firm Net Applications estimates that five out of six Windows users are still using something other than Windows 8.
The next major release will be the company’s chance to regain its footing and show that Microsoft can embrace mobile devices without sacrificing the traditional computing experience.
Microsoft is expected to give an early look at some new features Tuesday during an event the company has billed as a discussion about “what’s next for Windows.” The company hasn’t said what it plans to call the new Windows version.
