Video: Woman who attempted to commit suicide at Galle Face dies in Hospital

The woman who was rescued after attempting to commit suicide by jumping into the sea at Galle Face has died.

She had attempted to commit suicide this afternoon and she was rescued by police officer and admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

A hospital spokesperson stated that she had passed away after being admitted.

The reason for the attempted suicide of the 42 year old woman has not yet been uncovered and the police media unit stated that her identity has not been confirmed yet.

The police media unit stated she was 5 foot 2 inches and at the time of her demise she was wearing a green and purple dress with a flowery motif.

The police media unit requests the help of the public to help confirm the identity of the deceased woman.
