The first Information Technology (IT) Park project to be established by the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRC) is to be set up on a 13 acre plot of land near the Suriyawewa stadium and work would begin around next month, TRC chairman Anusha Pelpita told CCL.
He added that this IT Park would be leased to IT and BPO companies.
“We have picked a local contractor for the construction of the IT Park. The tender to begin the work will be offered to this construction firm very soon. It will be approximately 200,000 square feet in extent,” said Pelpita
Once begun, the construction work is expected to be completed within 24 months and the investment is around Rs. 03 billion.
“Several companies have already agreed to set up business within this IT Park,” Pelpita added.
The TRC has already begun construction of the Nelum Kuluna or Lotus Tower project in Colombo.
